TOPOLOGICAL DEFECTS: EXAMINED

Topological Defects: Examined investigates solitons, phase transitions, scale, resources, and materiality.

Topological Defects is a long-term drawing and installation project inspired by armchair research in quantum field theory, and topological defects, or the spontaneous breaking of symmetry within an otherwise unchanging physical or energetic structure.

Works are created with limited tools and materials with the intention to explore the possible outcomes of a controlled environment that, in ways, emulates and subverts, the physical.

Drawings are created with 10 tools: Water, ink, graphite, 4 calligraphy nibs, white grease pencil, and 2 brushes.
Sculptures are created with three materials: fiber, wire, glue
