Everything Evolves addresses the complexity of evolution under this definition: an entity’s “biological” response to a series of stimulus. This collaborative experience is presented with the subtext that evolution requires our presence, not our full attention. Physical presence is required to be subject to evolution and attention, concerted effort (if you will), is essential when guiding processes of change.

A REVIEW:

Everything Evolves tapped directly into the wellspring of local artistic expression. In particular, Heidmous brought together a diverse group of connected artists from different fields: it was a celebration of local artifact over any particular discipline. The entire experience was deeply relational at multiple levels and full of energy.

There is a new type of energy in an event like this, and this energy expresses more of what is and is to come than what has been. As the development in the core of our city accelerates, it will be driven not just by businesses and buildings, but also art and culture. It must. Everything Evolves demonstrated and celebrated this reality.

Raised Traverse (B. Heidmous) and Think Tank (L. Schiff) present Everything Evolves, a one night experience, featuring multiple presentations of performative art and craft addressing evolution. The event will take place on Friday 5 October 2018, the First Friday of National Arts Month. Schiff and Heidmous are Colorado Springs “natives” concentrating their attention on our cities development of community, social wellbeing and culture.

Colorado Springs is undergoing a rapid process of change. We, artists and entrepreneurs, are focusing our attention and effort on the personal and financial wellbeing of our communities. In this collaboration we highlight the interdependence of art and enterprise in our growing city, national and global communities.

Everything Evolves, addresses the complexity of evolution under this definition: an entity’s “biological” response to a series of stimulus. The work of art that sparked this event is a performance entitled BY-PRODUCT by Briget Heidmous. The performance confronts transmutation, resources and the constant change that occurs in the periphery of our conscious experience.
